Nitesh's work examines how economic change impacts communities and the role of government policy in catalyzing broad economic prosperity. His current projects focus on the the connection between place-based economic displacement and political polarization, as well as the impact of AI deployment on jobs, education, and well-being. 

As a part-time faculty member at the University of Michigan School of Social Work, Nitesh has taught graduate-level courses on community organizing, policy analysis, and non-profit management. He has significant experience building and stewarding partnerships between academic programs and social service agencies, advancing both student learning and the agencies' missions. 

Nitesh is a licensed clinical and macro social worker in the State of Michigan. He has been trained as a social work supervisor by NASW-Michigan, and he provides license supervision for Michigan LLMSWs working in policy and political roles.
